ʻEKAHI: Number one in a series

Aloha from glorious Kaneohe, on Oahu's windward side, where the temp is 81 degrees and one can see through the fluffy clouds beyond the blue horizon.

OK, after eight months of  launching
WhodaguyHawaii.com-- on 07/07/07 at 0707-- and with most audio bugs fixed, we debut our much-requested blog.

It is dedicated to multi-media maven Ken Levine, who serves up one of the most
ono (Hawaiian for" delicious") spots in the Blog O'Sphere. Not just because he writes killer stuff. but because of his endorsement: "If I can set this up, anyone can." In permanent recognition of Beaver Cleaver (Ken's erstwhile deejay name) we dedicate this service and blame all poor writing on him.

The first Island music website originating from Hawaii began after I couldn't stand more years of Kevin Gershan ragging me to do it.  Chip Monck tossed in some dollars from Australia where he now lives.  Dozens of generous talents added their kokua (cooperation) and we've been webcasting fulltime since then.  (Check out Kevin's producer credits for ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and INSIDER if they ever slow down.  And Google Chip Monck to read of his Hall of Fame career staging things like WOODSTOCK and the Stones.

None of this happens without the valued assistance of  Edmund "Big Poppy" Villaruel.

Emails have increased to the point where this blog will be a better way to deal with your neat suggestions, questions, gripes, song and artist requests, etc. while deleting offers to grow back my hair, lower my car insurance rate, lengthen my 'ahuwiniwini while also offering discount Viagra.

And email is cheaper than a long distance call to Hawaii if you still pay extra for such things.

When I was on the air and later in "management" I personally took listener calls. That was before "interactive" became a buzz word.   I promise to read your post and respond when need be.

I also pledge not to be the first to bring up the NFL gypsy franchise from Cleveland~Los Angeles~Anaheim~St. Louis, honest.

My two loves are Hawaii and radio.  Please check out the Mission Statement at the site if you wish to know where I stand on morphing the two.

See you online.  And me ke aloha pumehana, which is a good thing to say in Waikiki if you don't want to leave a big tip and piss off a big brown dude.
